I've had a face lift. Can you see how stretched and taut we are in here now? We can hardly blink, let alone frown. Now I just have to sort out those spots...
The thing was, as I flitted from blog to blog, I noticed that lots of you have spruced up your blog home. Your Blome. I seem to have had the same template since time imablogable, so I started tinkering. And you know what happens when you start tinkering? You sit there trying this and that and before you know it, the clocks have gone back and hollow eyed children are beseeching you for human contact and sustenance.
I was tempted to add a dash or even a swathe of pink but pink has connotations which say 'I am a girly girl who has never chopped wood'. Which I haven't, but you know what I mean. However I disagree with this stereotyping. The right shade of pink is very agreeable if you disconnect it from its associations.
So, I avoided the pink on here but that doesn't mean I'm immune. Besides, it matches my face.
Tom Foolery - you may wish to look away ....

Very nice you look too Ms Lane.
Very spotty Muldoonish - if you remember him - but with a restrained chic, which is more than can be said of the pink things at the end of your legs.
LOL!!!! Oh Lane, that was rather witty of you :)))
I trust you haven't gone totally hair-raving bonkers and opted for a blue rinse to compliment those ruddy pink plimsolls? TFx
Lane's gone dotty!
No, seriously, I like the new home. Very nice.
And a spot of pink has never harmed anyone, I'm sure - like the shoes! :)
Wow! "Blome"and those -ehm pink things
Lane! What is going on? :)
I like it a lot, Lane. You did a good job. I don't care if you left the pink out. Well, except for your shoes. You could always have pink photos.
Quite a face lift...and very spotty but in a refrained sort of way.
Prsonally, I prefer the farting sandals to the plimsolls... although I wouldn't wear either when chopping wood.
It does seem to be facelift season! maybe it's something to do with winter coming.. God I spend HOURS flitting amongst blog templates and backgrounds until I decided to make my own background! none of the others fitted with my picture.
Not -totally- sure on the spots, but then I'm not a very spotty person (although my dog's nickname is Spot). But there you go.

I do love polka dots. I really do.
I wonder why they called them 'polka' dots though. Any ideas?
Your wallpaper matches the colour of my walls here in some parts of the barn. So therefore - since I love polka dots and this shade of silvery gray - I like the look!
The pink has to be the right shade of pink don't you think? Not and never - bubblegum pink. Just pink is just fine.
Ha ha ... your post so made me laugh, Lane. I love it when I'm reduced to giggles before 6am. Loving the new look blog! Fabulous! x
“hollow eyed children are beseeching you for human contact and sustenance” – love it!
Super post. Great shoes too. BD would be proud of you.
All the best, Boonie
I could recommend my 'fix it all' cure for the spots, but I fear mentioning the application of wine to lips might make you smile, and the that's not going to work with the facelift!
Why is it I keep thinking your blog clock is going backwards? Must have gone topsy turvy today...
I think the spots are great, Lane. And I do like the pink feet...
I see spots before my eyes!
See Spot run. Run, Spot, run!
A spot of tea, anyone?
P.S.
I adore your analog clock.
Ooh a proper facelift - none of your namby-pamby Botox or fillers. I love it, it's vair classy :o)
And those shoes are blogalicious.
Love it. Definitely spotilicious.
Sorry, that deleted comment was me. I got distracted by Nigella's recipe of salted peanuts and chocolate and pressed the comment thingymabob twice!
Very graphic, Lane. As in nice sharp borders, crisp colors and evenly spaced dots. Not graphic as shocking at all except for those pink teenies. Efforts well worth a possible visit from child services for parental neglect. I'm sure Peg thinks her photos will stand out a lot better against this subdued background.
Very nice, Lane. Rather soothing.
I've grown quite fond of pink myself of late. No pink shoes yet, though. :)
The shoes, THE SHOES!!! It's all a bit posh round 'ere now, innit? I can see I'll have to mind my Ps and Qs.
Queenie - Thank you kindly.
DOT - Ah yes, Pete and Dud. Bet they wouldn't have been adverse to a bit of pink footwear:-)
TF - How did you know!? I love my new blue hair. Goes perfectly;-)
(However secretly I just know you're yearning for pink plimmies)
Babaloo - Quite. Dotty and pink sounds good to me:-)
Felix - I ask myself the same question! Rather too often:-)
nora - thank you. Yes, pink photos would be good - perhaps Peg would oblige with a pink collar:-)
Troy - you're right, neither are wood chopping sandals. Maybe some pink spotty steel toes:-)
Juniper - The world goes by quickly whilst you're deeply ensconced in the template cave, doesn't it.
Aims - interesting question. Wiki says that the pattern became popular at the same time as the dance and hence the name. Strange.
Love the sound of your silver grey walls.
Amanda - glad you like it:-)
Boonie - 'BD would be proud'. I like that. Yes, I do:-)
Denise - If you think the clock is going backwards then maybe you have been applying wine to lips rather too liberally:-) Oh dear, I love that saying so much, my stitches are pulling:-)
Flowerpot - hurrah - a liker. My plimsolls thank you:-)
Marcheline - ha! A spot of tea - absolutely. A spot of bother ....? Maybe not:-)
Karen - Blogilicious. What a great word for the Blome:-)
Debs - Nigella can do that to a person. But peanuts and chocolate ...? Gracious!
Faye - I think Peg will look very good against the grey although she thinks that it will wash Teabag out and therefore better not to feature any photos of her. Typical.
Liane - No pink shoes? But you must. Quick:-)
Spiral Skies - I'm going to have to scruffy it up then. Don't want you having to mind your manners and cock little finger whilst drinking blue sherry. That wouldn't do at all:-)
