Walk With Me

Let's go for a walk. I'm not as grumpy as I look. (Although I may have been one coffee short of a smile this morning).

Peggy and Teabag are raring to go.

We'll follow a towpath for a while
Are you keeping up? We haven't got all day, although I wish we did.

A walk by water is a special walk. There are ducks ...

rich, reedy smells ...

and plenty of upside down trees.

The weather's mild. Perhaps a change of clothes mid walk?

There, that wasn't too arduous was it. Panting Peg is worn out.

Worn out on that little amble? How? Well, it's all down to game called Back and Forth. Peg is a big fan. All you need are two people the requisite distance apart and one scampering dog.

Thanks for that stroll in the countryside. I needed that after all the pollution in Paris.

LOL! What have you been feeding that dog on woman? I need some! ;-) TFx

Peg and Teabag are sooooo lovely. Glad they had a good walk with lots of ducks and upside down trees. Sounds great.

A dog called Teabag? That's so cool. I'd like a dog, just to call it Teabag.

Gorgeous photos, Lane!

Oh goodness! We're currently hosting the World Equestrian Games in KY. If we even get to host the World Canine Games, Back and Forth must be a major competition event. Keep up the pace, Pegs. Maybe we'll see your name on the marquee. And good job to get Them off the sofa and in the fresh air. Sure they wouldn't stir without your nagging.

Haha, I loved that video. I could replay it all day, if only to hear those little panting sounds! Sweet! And oh yes, I liked that beautiful walk with you and your dogs (brought mine along, is that okay?). Your weather must be better than ours, we do have sunshine, but it`s cool and WINDY! On the beach we almost blew away (Paco is too heavy, um fat, so no danger there).

Panting sounds? How cute! I have to hear that - must rummage around and plug the sound in.

Ah that was lovely! Since I can't have my own dogs I enjoyed my virtual walk with Peggy and Teabag!

What a marvelous way to start the day! It was beautiful. Where were you?

Troy said...

That looks like the river close to where I live. Is that your regular walk?

Juniper -hi and welcome. You're right about the energy. It's calming too.

Dumdad - ah but you have all those lovely parks. And the great characters (and shrugs) to write about.

Tom Foolery - I know! She's a little dynamo when she gets going:-)

Helen mh - thank you. I'm particularly fond of the upside down trees:-)

Fran - Glad you like it. I knew someone with a dog called Beanbag once. I thought that was cool too:-)

Sonia - thank you:-)

Lorna F - thank you too Lorna. It is very pretty.

Faye - Maybe Peg should start training for International Back and Forth event. If a ball is involved, she'll go on forever:-)

You're right about the couch potato syndrome though - the wetter it gets, the more persuading they need:-)

Angela - We've lost the sun now. Nothing but rain.
And good job Paco is 'solidly built' when it's gusty:-)

Chris S - There's always much huffing and puffing where Peg is concerned. And you're welcome to join us on virtual walkies anytime:-)

Sue G - We're in Suffolk, walking through the water meadows so it's always very lush.

Troy - I thought you might recognize it! It's one of our regular walks. We also walk around the peninsula, around Belstead - all over. And of course Felixstowe if we want to go further afield.

Peggy and Teabag are adorable. Love the reflection photos too.
Fun post. Thanks.

All the best, Boonie

How cool - a dog that walks itself (well, runs) without the aid of a ball and wears itself out! I WANT ONE OF THOSE! I'm using the lovely *upside down trees* pic as my desktop, if you don't mind. Thanks for the walk. I needed that! x

DOT said...

Cruel! I have done similar in my life when younger between two loves. No wonder I am prematurely aged.

Debs said...

Thanks very much, I thoroughly enjoyed that walk, especially the upside down tree.

I'm going to train Grumps to exercise himself in that way, what a brilliant idea, and what a cutie running back and forth like she does.

Babaloo said...

Great post, thanks for taking us on your walk! And the video is class. No wonder dogs are generally fitter than humans. ;-)

That was refreshing!

Great post and great pics. Thanks for sharing!

As for the video star, she is adorable. I had to watch her three times. :)

Yay, I got here in the end - and revelled in Peg's dashing back and forth. Lovely pics, Lane.

Thank you for a great walk. Are we allowed a slice of cake now? Must have burnt off so many calories.

Can't wait to see where Peggy the Wonder Dog and Tea Bag go next time.

what a great walk and loved those trees. Do they not like going off the lead? Molls likes a good RUN!!!

Boonie - thank you. Glad you liked them.

Debs R - wow, you're using the photo. That's brill. Thank you!

DOT - ah but I bet it made you the man your are today. And you have the memories:-)

Debs C - thanks Debs. Glad you could join us:-)

Babaloo - I know. For every walk we do, they quadruple it. And then some:-)

Liane - I'd like to swap it for one of your walks one day.

shirley - She'll be pleased to hear she's had some 'hits' today. And it'll go straight to her head:-)

French Fancy - glad you made it. Peg and Teas are too:-)

Fia - of course there's cake. Post Walkie Refuelling Cake is essential isn't it?:-)

Aims - huff and puff too. And that's just me;-)

Flowerpot - Peg goes off lead most of the time but I have to pick my spots with our Teabag. She's a tricky one.

I love walks, and I enjoyed this one very much. Many thanks. I loved the little clip of your dog running towards you. Very imaginative.

Have a nice rest of the week.

These dogs are gorgeous. Are they a particular breed or cross?

Karen said...

Oh how lovely :o)

The one thing lacking where I walk Molly is a pretty stretch of water!

Dogs are so happy trotting about in the fresh air, you can't help smiling.

Thanks for your comment on the post re the quotes from residents but someone thought I had crossed a line so I deleted it. I've put a substitute mini post in so please return and tell me whether or not you thought my original post was a bit 'off'.

Really, any name ending with "bag" is great for a dog... Teabag, Beanbag, Hobag, Oldbag, Notmybag... see what I mean?

The readers anxious to hear "little panting sounds" are making me giggle immoderately. It's really just a phone call away, if you don't mind using your credit card... 8-)

Great video, though, seriously. Dogs are amazing in their ability to focus on one thing and one thing only, and then to completely forget that and focus on something else just as fiercely.

lovely post. You may find my last post? interesting.

Really enjoyed your interactive walk with you :)

Lane said...

Cuban - glad you liked it.

Susie V - thanks!

Adele - hi. Teabag is a Yorkie cross and Peg is a Jack Russell cross. But she thinks she's all Jack Russell:-)

Karen - yep, they always make me smile:-)

FF - done. And I didn't think it was 'off' at all.

Marcheline - i just love little happy panting sounds:-)

Grumpy K - You are so not grumpy:-)

casdok - I'm glad you liked it.
