And then the sun came out. Strongly. And it confused me. I know, it doesn't take much, but I do like a season to conform to its agenda .
So then I was going to rehash a piece about an incident with my sandals which lay drowsing in 'drafts'. It was written back when the weather was doing as it should - heating us in the appropriate month . But it was a lame piece about how my daughters would wince whenever I left the house in them because 1) they are hand painted* and 2) because of the dreadful noises they make - awful flatulent noises as the arch of the foot makes contact with the in-step. They make me sound as if I run on beans.
In fact you'd have to be walking under the flight path of this to get away with it.
And now the weather has changed again so a post about silly sandals is .... silly.
So here are the dogs - practicing some serious sofa sqaudging in preparation for the months to come.

Splodges are obviously in - on my baubles and your sandals (love them, btw).... Yes, all very confusing re weather though what really annoys me is that the sun is blazing down while my fingers are STILL too numb to type. *sigh*
I'm all in favour of Indian summers and for your choice of TV programmes - in which case we both have sad lives! Love the splodges x
We sat in the sunshine on the beach last night and I ran in FROST this morning... def no sandals, splodges or no splodges though - it's Ugg-alikes for me!
The sandals look good – but of course I can’t hear them.
Smart dogs.
Have a nice day, Boonie
the dogs look like they will keep you nice and warm. i like the sandals-shame about the noise. new wallander - english or swedish?
Sod, wrote long comment and it disappeared. Just to say I envy you watching those TV progs!
I think those sandals look cool! Your daughters have no clue.
Love the weather we're having - autumn sunshine!
And from that photo I can see you'll never have cold legs/feet in winter with the dogs squeezed around you like that. Jack does the same when Felix is on the sofa. :)
I think those sandals look lovely -but I'm an oldie, what do I know? I like how even your toes are as well. I also have quite even toes (lots of people seem to have the second toe loads longer than the big toe).
This is funny weather now - I've just put the rads on for the first time in daylight. Thank goodness our rental home has an easy boiler with clear instructions.
Kisses to the fluffy ones and you can keep a stray one for yourself.
Methinks these hand-painted sandals are a vast improvement on those unfashionable (pink/blue?) crocs you had. Don't you be telling me that you've still got them Ms Lane!! ;-) TFx
Exmoorjane - I'm with you on the cold fingers. And when it gets really cold they crack:-(
Flowerpot - as long as we're ok with our 'sad' lives, it's ok:-)
Chris S - that's quite a contrast in temperatures! It's Uggalikes for me too. They make good slippers:-)
BoonieS - I'm glad you can't hear them over there. You are very lucky:-)
Sonia - Swedish Wallander. I think they're old ones but they're new to me. Love them. BBC4.
Dumdad - Blogger does that to me regularly too.
One of the good things about autumn is the TV. No BBC in France?
Babaloo - there's no chance of sitting on the sofa alone. Just out of the photo is the cat. They are all good hotties:-)
French Fancy - I don't think I've ever had a toe compliment before. Thank you:-)
Glad you've got a sensible boiler. There's nothing worse than a temperamental one!
TF - they were blue and yes I still have them ! I only wear them indoors now as the soles are so thin due to scraping dog hair off the rugs with them. They are brilliant for that:-)
I have pink plimsolls though. Is that not good?
I love it when it's sandal weather.
I had a pair of shoes once that made farty sounds. My friend tried to tell me that no-one else would notice, but when you work in an office where 80 people are silently getting on with their work, it was a little embarrassing and so I did get rid of them.
just gotta love autumn...I am writing again..so pop by and read! love perusing the blog again...ages since last!
Great sandals! Weather's gone all autumnal here again now...so I'm raking up crispy leaves as I'm typing. :-)
Bah! I was going to ask you where you got that lovely footwear from - now I'm going to have to ask if the 'paint' is nail polish or proper acrylic stuff and how you got the white centres (cocktail stick or fine brush?) I like knowing things like this and I'm ALL FOR prettying things up - fab idea!
The weathermen should be telling us things like "tomorrow it will be mostly unpredictable for the time of year". Be more believable.
Pink plimsolls! Hang thy 'ead in shame woman ;-) TFx
Debs - I think I should get rid of mine too. One can't always be at an airshow:-)
Aminah - long time, no see! Will pop over and glad to hear you're writing again.
Amanda - you can multi task very well!
Debs R - Acrylic paint with small paint brush. Just daub. I doubt they'd survive a rainstorm:-)
TF - But they are Converse ...ish. Isn't that ok??? And I don't carry a matching handbag:-)
I haven't got a tweedy cardi, but I sort of want one now ...
NO!! To be worn only as part of a fancy dress costume methinks ;-)
The best thing about not being 21 any more is the freedom to wear whatever the hell you want to and not give a hang what anyone else thinks.
Farting, handpainted shoes! Every mother of teenagers should have some! What an excellent form of payback!
Helen - apparently they're the 'thing' this autumn:-)
TF - pah. I think you're in denial and are actually yearning for some. You know you want to:-)
Marcheline - Absolutely. I also have some rather fetching orange suede shoes. They go down a storm on the teenager front too... They call them my big carrots.
