Predictions.

If I ever get demented or concussed and need to be asked questions such as 'what's today's date?', I will fail miserably and be bundled up and put away.

If you tell me we're meeting up on the 21st, I will think that's ages away purely because I have absolutely no idea when it is. In order to work out what today's date is, I think back to the last important date on the calender - say my mother's birthday which I know was on a Wednesday - and then work it out on my fingers from there.

This is why I'm genuinely shocked to discover it's August. Time runs at a speed I'm not comfortable with. It should be late June. But it's not and I seem to have fallen off the blog. It was very rude of me not to say toodle pip. So I'll say it now. Toodle pip. Just for a bit.

But before I go, I just want to show you this award from Calistro, whose book Heaven Can Wait is out in October. It was awarded for appreciation of my psychic abilities in predicting her career. Well, it wasn't difficult as there was never any doubt that her career would take off big time.

Now should I dye my hair black? My psychic powers are telling me ....

no.

Very loudly.

And Mystic Meg Peg is now telling me it's time for walkies. And Mystic Peg is always right.

Very fetching this black hair...

Was wondering where you'd been hiding, have missed your blog posts. Do tell us what's keeping you busy, please! Maybe you're tending these lovely pink roses in your garden?

your divine abilities are spot on: don't dye

Where have you been, lane? I almost forgot you existed! Isn't that awful? You should not dye that lovely hair of yours black, I forbid it. You need to go through life as a blond. It suits you. Don't stay away so long and do tell us what you have been up to...

Babaloo - Business has been keeping me busy. And not really that much fun or very interesting.

There are only about three pink roses. The rest are just twigs. It's just an artful photo:-)

Felix - I think you're right:-)

The Green Stone Woman - I wouldn't go black really. It kind of matches the crystal ball image though doesn't it:-)
I'll try not to stay away too long.

I wondered where you were. I too took some time out - not planned but very much needed. I think we all get busy, or fallow periods where a break is needed and the real world takes over. Come back soon, you are missed. X

All bloggers need a break now and then to go off and - oh, I don't know...write books?

So don't forget to pack your writing pants mrs.

I've been missing you all along - more time away won't change that. It's summer Lane - I'm not around that often myself -

I'll echo all your other blog buddies, Lane. We'll miss you and look forward to the time when blogging fits in your life again. Peggy F and Teas will have so many stories to tell us when you do return. Take care of yourself.

So many people seem to be dropping out of blogging - is it something that is being put in the water?

Hopefully you'll come back revitalised so I'll say "au revoir" rather than "goodbye".

Maybe Peggy could take over and do a few guest blogs while you're away? We'll miss you honey xxx

Oh you do make me laugh. I was wondering where you'd gone but now I see that you are having 'moments' like me...so I know now that we'll see you when you remember to visit your blog. Ok then...enjoy the summer before it is gone.

I think time goes more quickly in the summer. But the days are longer. So how does that work, then?

I'm with you; I can't believe it's August either. Mentally, I'm still stuck in Christmas-recovery mode ... about March.

Have a lovely relaxing break and come back soon!

It's a lie. It isn't August. It is indeed late June. This is what my internal clock says and everything else, I assure you, lies!
Have a wonderful break and stay away from those C things! ;-)

Mystic Peg and Sorcerer Teas will keep you grounded and save you from sitting writing for hours on end. That's what walkies are for - a time to stretch those legs and doggy bond.

Good luck with getting on with the novel

The tree outside my house is turning brown! There are even a few leaves blowing in the gutter - I want to rush out and stick them back on! Noooo! I am not, repeat, not, an autumn/winter person. It's getting dark at nine too! Nooo! The only good thing to look forward to is that your (well-deserved no doubt) break from your blog will end and you'll come back to us. Amuse and entertain us. Wake up to your responsibilities, Lane! x
